closeup of candle flames

Some time ago I asked a question about photographing flames without them ending up fuzzy and blurry. I took this picture during Chanukah 2020, using manual settings on my cell-phone camera, but alas I did not take good-enough notes about which exact settings went into this picture. In general, though, I learned that shutter speeds around 1/100 and ISO 400 (or 200) produced good results. Because this challenge is about macro, I set a short focal distance and took this one from very close. The gold vertical pieces you see in the background are parts of the holder about 2" behind the candles. This is a short-enough focal distance that apparently dripping wax could be in focus on only one candle.

Clos-up photograph of a sunflower

Sunflower Pollen, Montreal QC, 2020-09-26

I grew the sunflower myself on my balcony, and took this photo on the same day that I discovered my other sunflower was crushed by a piece of plaster that fell off of the balcony above.
