It looks like you are right. I think I was confusing this site with Outdoors. That makes the inactivity here even more pitiful, since it can't be blamed on search engine blacklisting. (more) |

@peter You may be on to something. The top picture looks a little worse (more staged and artificial) than the middle to me. That correlates with your bent wrist measure. (more) |

Small handheld meters are quite common, and are hardly specialized pieces of equipment. They are available at any hardware store or home improvement store. Lots of people have them as part of their overall toolkit. Anyone doing home auto mechanics, or general home "handy" stuff is likely to have o... (more) |

You are setting a very unusual and bad precedence. I didn't know the direct answer, and don't have one of those devices to find it myself. There is nothing wrong with explaining the process to find an answer. Such answers have never been considered invalid before. It could have been useful to the... (more) |

@#8049, that wasn't clear at the time. Photographic flashes are sometimes referred to as "speedlights" or "flashlights" in certain photographic contexts. Note also that the OP originally wrote "flash lights", not "flashlights". (more) |

Things are a little different here, but most of the basic problems are the same. I have to go do some real work now, so don't have time for a detailed answer. (more) |

Considering the first films didn't have associated sound at all, dubbing doesn't make any sense. (more) |

Your basic premise is incorrect, and there are many unspecified variables that would effect the answer in any case. This question should really be closed in its current state, but it would be better to clarify it instead. How wide a view? How fast across the picture is "movement"? How long a clip... (more) |

You could change the title of the question to make more sense outside the Photography site context, like *"Photo Contest - Clouds"*. (more) |

If you really want to revive this site from the dead, then any effort would be best spent getting the word out to the public that has photography questions. (more) |

I don't understand the downvote. If something is wrong, misleading, or you think what I said doesn't address the question, please explain. I can't fix what I don't know is broken. (more) |

@Monica: I understand. Since you were wondering, I thought others might too, so I added explanation to the answer. (more) |

@Monica: This was taken with a long lens at short distance, so the background is very out of focus. The background was just more forest with patches of sunlight. (more) |

@10Rep: If you really need a particular shutter speed, then shutter priority makes sense. However, I usually keep my camera set to aperture priority. For one-offs where I want a "fast" shutter speed, I just twiddle the aperture dial until I get the desired shutter speed. If I were doing a whole sp... (more) |

It was well published what part of the sky the comet would appear at what time. I noticed that the brightness decreased rapidly over the next few nights after this picture was taken. A few days later when there was clear sky again, I couldn't find the comet at all. (more) |

@Peter: The reflection is quite close to head on. Note how the reflection of the top candle is below the original, and of the bottom candles above. The head-on angle vertically is about halfway up the big candle. There is a small angle due to the flame being above that, and an even smaller one due... (more) |

Sorry, but I think this is missing the point somewhat. It seems the flames are blurry not because of motion, but because of over-exposure. This is made worse by the small diameter of the cell phone lens causing more diffraction, and more bleed-over due to very tight spacing of sensels on the tiny s... (more) |

@Monica: Cell phone cameras have come a long way from the toys they were just a decade ago. However, sky photography usually requires careful manual settings, which are often not available on something dumbed down with low intimidation factor being the highest design criterion. Asking about night s... (more) |

@Hueco: It's my own IMAGE_EDIT program. Actually it has two types of brightening/darkening while keeping the ends of the range the same. The log brightening I used is the more general. There is also something that has a stronger effect on the dark end of the range. (more) |

I keep seeing this question and think how I could list 100 different things. Then I realize this question can never be fully answered, and it feels too overwhelming to even start. Perhaps the reason you're not getting any answers is that others go thru a similar thought process. (more) |

This question seems like the poster case of "too broad". I realize you're trying to generate help material, but this might give the wrong idea of what kinds of questions are allowed. That makes me wonder how group-edited help can be created here. SE used to handle this with community wiki, which n... (more) |
